It makes life easier for the lighting designer if the same units are used to light any given part of the general cover. Likewise it is easier if each area of the stage is divided up into chunks of the same size, but this does not always have to be the case. It may be that on a set with specifically dedicated areas it is more useful to design the general cover to accommodate these delineations (see Fig. 89).

The next exercise continues to expand on the concept of creating a realistic general cover.
